Full-sized machine
The standard go-to category of machine if you have reasonable access. Big enough to handle most lifting and excavating tasks efficiently on commercial jobsites, but at only 5 feet wide, it's compact enough to be useful on many residential sites.
Will carry most all available attachments.
Limited-access machine
Great for landscapers and waterproofers, anyone working on residential sites with tight access, particularly to the back yard. Ramp it down and run it under the house when lowering basements/underpinning. Or industrial jobsites where clearances are limited or when working indoors.
Runs some attachments.
Mid-sized machine
A happy medium between the 3-foot machines that you'd ideally like more capacity from, but are still limited by your tight-access issues and can't fit or operate practically a full-size 5 or 6 foot machine. Fast, efficient and powerful class of unit.
Will carry many attachments.
Mid-sized tracked-machine
This class of machine is perfect for applications that involve tough traction situations (sandy/loose ground, slippery clay, wet topsoil, or slopes), as well as reducing damage to exisiting lawns and landscaping (tracks distribute ground pressure over a much greater area), but at the same time require a machine that needs only minimal space for access - this unit is only 48 inches wide!
Compatible with no attachments, smooth bucket only.
Large-capacity machine
If you have plenty of access (6 feet or better), and have some big loads to move, this is what you want. Big buckets, lots of power, bigger lift capacities in weight (lifting landscape stone or pallets of pavers) and height (will load most full-size tandem-axle dump trucks). Perfect for pavers, residential driveways and commercial / industrial sites
Will run almost all attachments from anywhere

Loads dump trucks, lifts a skid of brick easily.
Will run almost all attachments available anywhere.
