Post Hole Service
for fences and decks
Best choices - for fastest service:
We have a greater supply of machines in these categories (3 and 5-foot sizes), as well they are the most commonly selected by our customers, so that means our response time to be able to get to you will be quickest if you choose one of them.
Please note: If you do not specify your preference when ordering, we will normally go with the 5-foot machine class by deftault (or the smaller 3 or 4 -footers if it is more convenient to our schedule), as that is our normal go-to size class for post holes. If you need or prefer a specific size, do make sure you are clear about that.
Equipment Options
Please indicate your choice when ordering
5-foot bobcat (our standard) - lots of power, quick drilling, goes through roots, clay, hard-packed and stoney soils with greater ease and higher likelihood of success.
Requires about 6-feet of access
3-foot bobcat - very effective tool, even in harder soils and clay; requires minimal access - great for backyards through gates, and working around trees and landscaping
Requires about 3 1/2 feet of access
4-foot bobcat - we don't have as many of this sized machine, but it does provide smaller access requirement combined with improved power, good compromise.
Requires about 5 feet of access
Another option:
Unique-needs?  Upgrade options:
Hard to reach some of places you need to drill holes?  Or dealing with sites with tough traction problems? These units are available on special request for upgraded charges.
Bad ideas:
The following are options, we suppose, but should not be you first choice, as can be seen by the descriptions below.  (By the way, we only show them for your interest, we don't actually offer these services or tools.)
It is definitely no fun struggling to dig a hole by hand, and much less so when you have a number of them to do, or you run into rocks, roots or clay.
Doing the nasty dance with the one or two-man auger can be a dangerous, smelly, smoky, loud and frustrating experience.
While the little mini-machines do have their place and can come in handy when you can't get a real machine in due to limited access, they certainly don't have the weight and power or speed.
Mini-excavagtor - some mini-excavators in our fleet (various size categories) can accept an auger attachment; as shown - to be able to reach difficult places where you need holes drilled.
Requires about 6-feet of access; has 15 feet or so of reach.
Track loaders - when you have wet, sloped. sandy or other difficult traction/terrain issues, consider a track machine.  They also may be less damaging to existing lawns.
Requires about 6+ feet of access
