Float Fee
and service-call / set-up charge
Our charges for our bobcat service are principally based on the on-site time for the machine and operator, and a delivery/
service call combined fee which we simply call the Float Fee; additional charges may also apply, such as any rental fees for attachments requested, for example. This page explains in more detail about the Float Fee for any that want to know more.
As noted, our Float Fee is a combined charge for both the delivery/removal of the equipment and the charges to cover the costs of providing our service call / set-up/booking costs. From this point on this page and throughout our website we will call it simply the "Float Fee" in short.

The cost of your Float Fee is based on 2 main things:
1. The location of your jobsite in relation to the branch that is providing you service (your "Float Zone": A, B, C, D, or E)
2. Are you qualifying for our discounted or regular Float Fees? Those qualifications are based on the following 3 sub-points:
a) How far in advance did you book our services? (obviously booking a number of days beforehand is cheaper than last minute)
b) Are you booking for a regular week day or a premium time? (premium times are weekends, holidays, evening or overnight, etc)
c) Your payment method used (paying by "cash" is obviously going to get you a better rate than by credit card, etc.)

Discounted Float Fees

Zone A $100 branch's home territroy, closest area around it
Zone B $110 within home territory of servicing branch
Zone C $120 just outside branch's home territory
Zone D $130 outside of servicing branch's home territory
Zone E $140+ distant, well out of local territory, exact price TBA

Regular (non-discounted) Float Fees

Zone B $160 within home territory of servicing branch
Zone C $170 just outside branch's home territory
Zone D $180 outside of servicing branch's home territory
Zone E $190+ distant, well out of local territory, exact price TBA
To qualify for discount float fees, and save $50:
1. Book 2 days beforehand (weekdays), and before 4 PM
2. Request service for a normal work day and time
(workdays: Monday to Friday, and 7 AM to 6 PM)
3. Pay by cash or cheque (or debit, depending on branch),
being sure to pay the operator on time: And that is onsite
(ie: before he needs to leave, taking the equipment with him)
Conversely, regular (non-discounted) float fees apply when any 1 of the following occur:
1. Request same day / next day service, and/or book after 4 PM
2. Request a Saturday, Sunday or Statutory holiday (such as:
Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Aug Civic Holiday,
Labour Day, Thanksgiving, etc), or request an overnight/late
night service (service to start after 6 PM)
3. Pay by non-preferred method: credit card, or Account (only
available for pre-approved Account-contractors; account is a
deferred-COD payment due within 7 days), or in any other
situation where payment is not ready on time for the operator at
the appropriate time (when he calls for it, as arranged)
