Site visits (generally are unnecessary, and done rarely), quotes/firm estimates (never), advice offered (we do that sometimes). As noted elsewhere, as a rule we do not come out to look at your site first, that would slow our services down and add undue cost. Our response time is so quick and rates so reasonable, partly because people (typically professional contractors who hire us mostly) have sufficient knowledge and experience and perhaps formal training in order to be familiar enough with the tasks at hand and the various equipment available to accomplish these tasks, that a site visit is superfluous.
We will not normally come to look at your site first; doing so would slow our service down considerably, and cause our prices to increase.
Officially we do not offer free site visits, nor encourage them. There are rare ocassions where we may arrange such a visit, strictly on an advisroy basis, perhaps for a nominal charge. Be advised, that even if we did make an exception and visit your site beforehand for some reason (which we will sometimes on rare occasion do), our role is simply that of an advisor – we offer you free advice on perhaps what machinery you may want to order, perhaps roughly (very roughly, and with no promises, no commitments) how long the process might take, and so on.
But never are we obligated in any way by the information we provide on such a visit.
However, we do not under any circumstance offer quotes, or estimates regarding time or pricing expectations of projects.
For the same reasons we do not offer phone quotes either; and any information offered by a dispatcher or operator over the phone is to be taken in the spirit it was offered – as helpful information, general advice, but certainly not as a firm quote or information that you should base a decision on – all decisions are yours to do research on in advance, and then make based on your own knowledge, experience and information.
This goes for not only timing and cost of work that you wish to be done, but also regarding equipment selection, machine capacities and capabilities – all that is for you to do your own independent research on and make your own educated decision.
Even if we have been to your site previously (maybe do come by to see your site beforehand to offer you some advice on machine selection, etc, or have been to this same site of yours to work on previous ocassion(s)), it does not change our position that we wll not be held to any additional level of responsiblity for having done so. All decisions are still yours to make.
